ASU's Trotter Named Academic All-American

GREENWOOD, IN — Angelo State senior Tatiana Trotter was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Team, earning second-team honors, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Trotter, an Intelligence and Analysis graduate from Lubbock, earns her second Academic All-America selection after receiving third-team honors last season.

The standout for Angelo State University finished her senior season with a .358 batting average, 18 home runs and 58 RBIs. She was also named NFCA Division II Player of the Week during the final week of the regular season.

Trotter set multiple program milestones during her career, including a record 18 triples, and became the fifth player in program history to surpass 40 career home runs. She also led the Rambelles with a .838 slugging percentage and posted a 29-game on-base streak during the season.

She concludes her career ranked among the program’s top performers with a .673 slugging percentage, 167 runs scored, 42 home runs, 171 RBIs, 396 total bases, 99 walks and 10 sacrifice flies — all top-10 marks in school history.

The honor marks Trotter’s third All-America recognition this season and the fourth of her career.

It is also the 10th Academic All-America selection in Rambelles softball history and the 61st overall for Angelo State athletics. Trotter becomes the third Rambelle and the 10th ASU student-athlete to earn multiple Academic All-America honors.
