LAS VEGAS, NV — A Texas man is among the nine players who have made the final table of the World Series of Poker Main Event.
San Antonio’s Han Feng, who has already secured a payday of at least $1 million, will enter the final table in eighth place with 25 million chips — which equates to 17 big blinds.
The winner of the prestigious $10,000 buy-in tournament will claim a $10 million first-place prize.
Lucas Jumalon, a 22-year-old from Spokane, Washington, is the overwhelming chip leader with 194 million chips.
He’s followed by Canada’s Rami Hammoud (79 million), California’s Jamie Shaevel (56 million), Canada’s Greg Mueller (48.5 million), Florida’s Michael Gagliano (46.5 million), France’s Mario Boos (44 million) and Finland’s Lauri Saaskilahti (37.5 million).
Cyprus’ Evagoras Evagorou is the short stack with 22.5 million.
It took eight days of play to reach the final table, which will be held Aug. 3-5 in Las Vegas. The final table will be broadcast on ESPN.
Australia’s Malcolm Trayner entered Monday with the chip lead at 63.2 million among 21 players, but he finished one spot short of the final table in 10th place, which came with a $750,000 payout.
Defending champion Michael Mizrachi had an admirable run through the 9,208-player field to finish in 241st place to earn $50,000.
