DALLAS, TX — One of the best high school football programs in Texas will clash tonight against one of the top teams from Oklahoma.
Southlake Carroll, an eight-time state champion, will welcome 18-time Oklahoma champ Jenks from across the Red River to play at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Cotton Bowl.
The high-profile matchup is one of the more intriguing games you’ll find in the country to kick off the 2026 season.
Carroll, which went 14-1 last year and lost in the state semifinals, enters this year ranked No. 8 in the state in Class 6A Division I.
Dragons quarterback Hudson Tomchek is a 6-foot-4 sophomore receiving a ton of college interest, and he’ll have two big-time wide receivers to throw to in Baylor commit Blake Gunter and Illinois commit Brody Knowles.
Jenks, which is located just outside of Tulsa, is a 6A D-I school that also reached the state semifinals last year with a 10-2 record.
The Trojans are ranked No. 3 in their state and are led by Florida commit Kailib Dillard, a wide receiver and defensive back.
The game is one of numerous inter-state (and even international) matchups that will take place in Texas this season. In West Texas alone, we’ll have the following games:
