Angelo State Volleyball Up to No. 6 in National Rankings

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Angelo State volleyball team climbed three more spots in the NCAA Division II national rankings Monday to No. 6.

The Rambelles won a pair of four-set matches last week against West Texas A&M and Lubbock Christian to improve their record to 10-1.

ASU began the year with eight straight victories while dropping only three sets, which included a sweep of then-No. 7 Metro State.

The Belles’ only loss was a 25-23, 25-23, 25-19 setback against Ferris State, which is now the No. 1 team in the nation.

The other teams in the top five include No. 2 Wayne State, No. 3 Tampa, No. 4 Fresno Pacific and No. 5 Concordia-St. Paul.

ASU is the only Lone Star Conference or Texas team in the national rankings.

The Belles will visit St. Mary’s and St. Edward’s this weekend before returning home for a match against Oklahoma Christian at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25.
