Dallas Cowboys Look to Correct the Skid Against Floundering Eagles

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Two struggling NFC East rivals will look to turn their seasons around Monday night when the Dallas Cowboys visit the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field to close out Week 7 of the NFL season.

Both teams enter the matchup with 2-4 records after disappointing starts to 2026. Dallas has lost two consecutive games, while Philadelphia has dropped four straight for the first time since 2020.

The game also marks another chapter in one of the NFL's longest-running rivalries, with both teams attempting to remain competitive in an NFC East division led by the New York Giants.

How to watch:

  • Matchup: Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles
  • Date: Monday, Oct. 26, 2026
  • Kickoff: 7:15 p.m.
  • Location: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  • TV: ESPN and ABC
  • Alternate broadcast: ManningCast on ESPN2

Dallas enters the game following a 23-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 6. It was a game where Dallas struggled all night to get anything going offensively. It was not until very late the fourth quarter that the Cowboys even pulled within ten, but at that point, the game was well out of reach.

Quarterback Dak Prescott will look to get the Dallas offense back on track and needs to lean on receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens to do it.

Running back Javonte Williams will also be a key factor as Dallas attempts to establish a more balanced offensive attack. The Cowboys ranked 31st in rushing yards entering Week 7, with Williams averaging 3.7 yards per carry this season after averaging 4.8 last year.

Dallas coach Brian Schottenheimer has emphasized the need for improvement in the running game after the team's recent offensive struggles.

The Cowboys will be without wide receiver KaVontae Turpin, offensive tackle Drew Shelton and linebacker Dee Winters. Linebacker Marist Liufau and safety P.J. Locke are listed as questionable.

The matchup will also feature Dallas defensive coordinator Christian Parker facing his former team. Parker previously served as Philadelphia's defensive backs coach before joining the Cowboys.

Philadelphia enters Monday's matchup dealing with significant injuries, including the loss of starting quarterback Jalen Hurts, who is on injured reserve because of blood clots and could miss the remainder of the season.

Backup quarterback Tanner McKee has taken over the starting role but struggled in his first meaningful start of the season during Philadelphia's 25-14 loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 6. The Eagles have scored just 58 points during their four-game losing streak.

Philadelphia will also be without wide receivers DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks, along with linebacker Nolan Smith and defensive back Michael Carter II.

However, the Eagles are expected to receive a boost with the return of running back Saquon Barkley, who has missed two games with a hamstring injury. Barkley participated fully in practice ahead of Monday's matchup.

Philadelphia's running game has struggled without Barkley, with injuries also affecting backup running backs Will Shipley and Tank Bigsby.

The Eagles will face a Dallas defense that ranks among the NFL's worst through six games. The Cowboys rank 30th in total defense and have struggled to contain opposing rushing attacks.

Dallas holds a 72-58 advantage in the all-time series, including a 24-21 victory over Philadelphia in the teams' most recent meeting Nov. 23, 2025, in Arlington, Texas.

The Cowboys enter Monday as road favorites despite their losing record, largely because of Philadelphia's extensive injury concerns.

With both teams sitting at 2-4, Monday's game carries significant implications for the NFC East standings. Win, and the season isn't over yet. Lose, and that postseason mountain gets steeper and steeper every week.
