Angelo State Rambelles Look to Bounce Back Against UTPB

SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State will look to rebound from its first series sweep of the season when it faces UT Permian Basin in a pair of Lone Star Conference doubleheaders this week.

The Rambelles will travel to Odessa for a doubleheader at 2 p.m. Wednesday before returning home to host the Falcons at Mayer Softball Field at 5 p.m. Thursday. Thursday’s games were moved up from Friday due to forecasted inclement weather in the Concho Valley.

Last time out, Angelo State was swept over the weekend at Texas A&M-Kingsville, falling 5-3 and 8-2.

Earlier this year, the Rambelles recorded the 1,000th win in program history with an 18-0 victory over Midwestern State on Feb. 20. Angelo State, which began competition in 2002, joined St. Edward’s and St. Mary’s as the only Lone Star Conference programs to surpass 1,000 wins.
