Two Arrested, Another Suspect Sought in North Abilene Shooting

The Abilene Police Department responded to a disturbance call at 11:45 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016, at an apartment located in the 1400 Block of Cedar Street for possible gunfire at that location.

An 18-year old-male was injured in the shooting and was taken to a local hospital. He is listed in critical but stable condition.

When APD officers arrived, they secured the scene and questioned residents inside the apartment. Police also canvassed the neighborhood and spoke with several witnesses, who provided a description on a suspect vehicle. Subsequently, a patrol unit discovered and detained a vehicle fitting this description in North Abilene.

The occupants of the vehicle were brought back to the Law Enforcement Center for questioning. Nicholas Woodall, 23, and Daniel Johnson, 21, were both arrested and charged with First Degree Felony Aggravated Assault in the shooting.

Both are being held at the Taylor County Jail. A third suspect is being sought. Woodall and Johnson were in a vehicle when they opened fire at the home located on Cedar St.

APD officials said the investigation is ongoing.
