BIG LAKE, TX – A small plane was forced to make an emergency landing on state highway 137 north of Big Lake Friday.

The pipe line inspection pilot lost power in the Cessna 172 and used extraordinary decision making to land the plane safely on the roadway and walked away with no injuries.

No one on the ground was injured.

Law enforcement blocked off traffic as they worked the scene.
