Lubbock House Fire Kills Several Family Pets Friday

LUBBOCK— Several animals died when a house burned down in Lubbock Friday morning.

The Lubbock Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating a house fire that killed several pets. Around 8:45 a.m. on May 26, 2023, Lubbock Fire Department personnel responded to Louisville and 73rd Street for a structure fire. The fire produced so much smoke that the visibility inside the house was near zero.

The fire was put out, but Lubbock Fire Rescue said several animals were killed and that the house occupants were not home. The cause of the fire is under investigation and a lightning strike was reported near the residence.
