LUBBOCK, TX— Country music legend George Strait will return to Texas next spring with a newly announced stadium concert at Texas Tech University’s Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock. The show is set for April 25, 2026, and will feature fellow Texans Miranda Lambert and Hudson Westbrook as openers.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, with a presale beginning Monday, Nov. 17, at 10 a.m. Fans correctly guessed the Lubbock location after Strait posted a cryptic teaser on X that mentioned “an announcement incoming for the Lone Star State” alongside a “Take Me to Texas” graphic.
The announcement follows Strait’s 2024 record-setting performance at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field, where he drew more than 110,000 fans — the largest ticketed concert crowd in U.S. history at the time. The record was later surpassed by country artist Zach Bryan in Michigan.
Since that Kyle Field show, Strait has continued his stadium tour with sold-out performances in cities including Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Foxborough, and Inglewood. His 2026 tour schedule also lists a May 2 show with Cody Johnson and Wyatt Flores at Clemson Memorial Stadium in South Carolina.
Strait’s only Texas performance this year was a benefit concert in Boerne that raised $6.25 million for Hill Country flood victims. He also made national headlines when President Donald Trump announced Strait will be among the 2025 Kennedy Center honorees, joining Sylvester Stallone, KISS, Gloria Gaynor, and actor-singer Michael Crawford. The ceremony will air Dec. 7 on CBS and stream on Paramount+.
