Man Fatally Shot By Ex-Girlfriend's Father

SAN ANTONIO, TX — After a confrontation with his ex-girlfriend, a 37-year-old San Antonio man was fatally shot by his former girlfriend's father.

According to KSAT, Daniel Rudy Veliz died as a result of the multiple gunshots Wednesday night.

According to police, officers were dispatched to a home in the 15900 block of Redwoods Manner for reports of a disturbance. When the officers arrived, they were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

After officers left the area, Veliz went to the home to confront his ex-girlfriend. The woman’s father then confronted Veliz with a gun. He then allegedly told Veliz to leave and Veliz refused. The victim then allegedly lunged at the man and he was forced to shoot Veliz.

Veliz was shot three times that resulted in wounds to his head, leg, and torso. He was transferred to University Hospital and pronounced dead.

Authorities confirmed children were inside the home at the time of the shooting, but only heard the gunshots and didn’t witness the incident.

As of Thursday morning, no charges have been filed in the case.
