HOUSTON, TX -- An 8-month-old baby has died after police say the infant was shot by his 3-year-old brother.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers were dispatched to an apartment complex on the 3100 block of Crestdale for reports of a fatal shooting. According to authorities, the 3-year-old brother somehow got ahold of the firearm and fired the weapon.
Several adults who were in the apartment drove the infant to the hospital before police arrived. The baby, identified as Royal Gordon, ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
No criminal charges have been filed at this time and the case remains under investigation.
