Alleged Child Molester Indicted After More than a Decade of Abuse

SAN ANTONIO, TX –– After allegedly assaulting a child for more than a decade, a grand jury has indicted Robert Hawes.

According to court documents, the 55-year-old began assaulting the victim around August of 2008. The sexual abuse continued for years until August of 2018 –– while the victim was under the age of 14.

The abuse resumed again in December last year and January of this year –– when the victim was under the age of 17.

While the exact age of the victim is unknown, court documents appear to indicate the child was a toddler when the abuse began.

Hawes was charged with continuous sexual assault of a child and arrested on Wednesday. His bond was set at $100,000.
