Houston Teen Brutally Murdered by Estranged Boyfriend While Walking the Family Dog

HOUSTON, TX – A cheater's confrontation ended with a death of a 16-year-old girl last week confirms Houston Police.

According to the Houston Police Department, on Jan. 11, officers with the HPD were dispatched to the Park Manor community park for the report of a shooting victim.

When they arrived, the officers found the bullet-riddled body of 16-year-old Diamond Alvarez. Alvarez was killed after being shot more than two dozen times by her boyfriend at the time, 17-year-old Frank DeLeon Jr.

Police believe that the two were meeting at the park to discuss their relationship after Alvarez found out about DeLeon's infidelity. Alvarez walked the family dog Peanut to the park that night to meet DeLeon.

During the confrontation, DeLeon allegedly shot and killed Alvarez. Her family found out about the incident after Peanut returned home without Alvarez. The harness, leash and coat of Peanut was covered in blood.

The family then went looking and found  Alvarez's body.

Police arrested DeLeon for the murder on Jan. 17. He is currently in the Harris County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

DeLeon has no prior criminal history.
