San Angelo LIVE! Targeted by Deep Fake News Article

SAN ANGELO, TX — A falsified news story made to appear as if it was published on SanAngeloLIVE.com is circulating in local chat groups and private messages.

The fabricated article, which was never written or published by San Angelo LIVE!, appears to have been created using Photoshop, though some have speculated that artificial intelligence may have also been used.

The fake story references a real incident—a shooting that occurred Wednesday, June 18, 2025, involving a sheriff’s deputy and a subject at a residence in Buffalo Heights. With specific details mimicking actual reporting, the doctored screenshot may appear convincing to a casual reader.

San Angelo LIVE! became aware of the forgery after it began spreading online and is now pursuing legal action against the individuals responsible.

Neither San Angelo LIVE! nor its parent company, Hyde Interactive, Inc., had any involvement in the creation or dissemination of the false article.
