One Killed in Rollover Crash on US 62 Near Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX – A 38-year-old Lubbock man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash late Sunday night on U.S. Highway 62, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The crash occurred around 10:37 p.m., approximately half a mile northeast of FM 1585. Investigators say Adan Vega was driving a 1994 GMC Sierra pickup southwest on U.S. 62 when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway and entered the center median.

The truck then re-entered the highway, crossed both lanes, and rolled down the shoulder, coming to rest on its roof, partially on the shoulder and in the outside lane. Vega, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved, and no additional injuries were reported. Weather and road conditions were clear and dry at the time of the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
