Barricaded Abilene Man Arrested on Felony Injury to a Child Warrant

ABILENE, TX — A man wanted for second-degree felony injury to a child was taken into custody Friday after barricading himself inside a South Abilene home, police said.

The Abilene Police Department Street Crimes Unit attempted to serve an arrest warrant on Joshua Roy Williams, 36, at a residence in the 3000 block of Heritage Circle, according to the department. Williams refused to exit, prompting multiple negotiations and the response of the department’s SWAT officers.

After repeated attempts and the use of chemical munitions, officers found Williams hiding in the attic and took him into custody. He was transported to the Taylor County Jail on the outstanding warrant.
