IRVING, TX — Five teams from the Big 12 Conference made it into the 2025 Preseason Coaches Poll ahead of the 2025 football season.
The Coaches Poll ranked Arizona State the highest out of the Big 12 at No. 11. Kansas State (20), Iowa State (21), BYU (23), and Texas Tech (24) joined the Sun Devils in the top 25. Five additional Big 12 schools—Baylor, Colorado, Kansas, TCU, and Utah—also received votes.

Arizona State’s No. 11 ranking is the highest preseason placement for a Big 12 team since 2022 and its best since 1998.

Kansas State has now been ranked in three consecutive preseason coaches polls.

Iowa State has appeared in 16 straight polls, the longest active streak in the conference.

BYU extended its own streak to 14 straight appearances dating back to Week 5 of last season.

Texas Tech returned to the preseason top 25 for the second time in three years, matching its 2023 ranking.
The Big 12’s 30th football season will kick off with three teams in action during Week 0, including a conference showdown between Iowa State and Kansas State in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Dublin, Ireland. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT on Saturday, Aug. 23, airing on ESPN.
