NWS: Flash Flooding Risk Today

SAN ANGELO, TX — Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected across West Central Texas today and Wednesday, bringing slightly cooler temperatures and the potential for localized flooding, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters say there is a marginal risk — a 5% to 15% chance — of excessive rainfall that could cause flash flooding, mainly in low-lying areas and on roadways. Rain is possible this morning and again in the afternoon and evening.

San Angelo has a 40% chance of rain today, with highs near 95 degrees. Rain chances drop to 30% on Wednesday before decreasing to 10% or less through the weekend. Temperatures across the region are forecast to range from the low 90s to low 100s through Sunday.

The weather service urges drivers not to enter flooded roadways and to avoid walking or driving through floodwaters.
