Special Weather Alert Issued for San Angelo

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A special weather alert has been issued for San Angelo and the surrounding areas.

At 3:45 p.m., Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over northeastern San Angelo, moving southwest at 25 mph.

Expect hazardous wind conditions with gusts up to 50 to 55 miles per hour and lightning. In addition to rain, there might also be pea-sized hail.

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.

Locations impacted include San Angelo, Christoval, Wall, San Angelo State Park, Twin Buttes Reservoir, Grape Creek, Goodfellow Air Force Base, Veribest, O.C. Fisher Reservoir, Lake Nasworthy, Tankersley, Harriet, and US-67 near the Irion-Tom Green County Line.

The thunderstorm is expected to last unitl 4:15 p.m.
