Houston and Tampa Bay Square Off on Monday Night Football

HOUSTON, TX — Week 2 of the 2025 NFL Season concludes on Monday night when the Tampa Bay (1-0) Buccaneers travel to NRG Stadium to take on the Houston Texans (0-1). Tampa Bay looks to remain undefeated, while the Texans look overcome some early season issues and make it to .500.

Last weekend the Texans lost a disappointing opening game against the Los Angeles Rams 14-9 in a matchup where neither team could really get the offensive ball rolling. Houston's defense played well behind their talented roster and held Matt Stafford and gang to just 14 points. However, C.J. Stroud and the rest of the Houston offense struggled to match that same intensity and only put up field goals in the contest, including zero points in the second half.

Houston looks to correct that on Monday night against a Buccaneers squad that allowed the Falcons 20 points in Atlanta. The Bucs won that matchup last week, 23-20. The contest came down to the wire when Atlanta took the lead with just over two minutes remaining. Baker Mayfield led the Bucs on a touchdown drive that ended with a 25-yard touchdown pass to Emeka Egbuka with less than a minute remaining. Falcons' kicker, Younghoe Koo, missed the potential game-winning field goal with seconds left on the clock to give the Bucs the win.

Kickoff between the Bucs and Texans is scheduled for 6 p.m. as a part of the NFL's Monday Night Football Double Header. The Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers are in the late-night slot scheduled for 9 p.m.
