SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo man has been arrested after attacking an individual with a knife.
Henry Brake, 44, of San Angelo, was arrested by the San Angelo Police Department for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to court documents, on Nov. 5, 2025, around 9:35 a.m., an SAPD investigator responded to Catholic Outreach Services, 410 N. Chadbourne St., regarding an assault.
Brake reportedly walked outside onto the patio area of the building and placed his bag on the ground. He then produced a black folding knife, opened it, and began walking back to the front door where the victim was standing. Brake then lunged at the victim, swinging the knife. Employees from the business closed and locked the doors while pulling the victim back inside.
The victim told the investigator he arrived at the location to start the process to get a phone. When the victim opened the door, he saw Brake walking out of the building. Brake also allegedly hurled racial slurs towards the victim.
The victim said Brake told him to come outside while he had a knife in his hand. Once the doors were locked, Brake stayed on the patio for a short period of time before leaving.
Video footage was reviewed, and it showed Brake leaving the building. As he passed the victim, he made a comment towards him, then pulled out a knife. The footage showed Brake lunge at the victim with the knife and also showed him tapping the glass doors with it.
The investigator proceeded to 14th Street and North Chadbourne Street, where Brake was detained by another police officer. He was read his Miranda Rights but refused to speak. Two knives were located on him, and he was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Brake was booked into the Tom Green County Jail on Nov. 5, 2025, and is being held on $50,000 bond.
