Richland Springs Lands 7 Players on Division II All-State Team

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Richland Springs Coyotes were honored recently with seven players on the Texas Six-Man Coaches Association Division II All-State Team.

Spread center Eli Hutchens, quarterback Ethan Deeds, running back Cohen Ethridge, spread rushers Billy Perry and Layne Ward, and utility Player Rush Norris were all named to the first team.

Freshman Evan Deeds was named the state’s Newcomer of the Year.

Richland Springs went 12-2 and reached the state final for the first time since 2020. The Coyotes came up short in a 99-54 loss to Jayton.

The Concho Valley had two other schools represented on the all-state team as Bronte wide receiver Raymond Williams and Blackwell cornerback Kreed Cummings received honorable mention.

Jayton swept the state’s top awards as Bode Ham was named Player of the Year, Sean Stanaland was named Offensive MVP, and Colt Gentry claimed Defensive MVP.
