Abilene Man Involved in Crash That Killed Teen on State Highway 6

EASTLAND COUNTY, TX — A 13-year-old boy was killed in a two-vehicle crash Christmas night on State Highway 6, about 2.2 miles north of Cisco, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The crash occurred around 8:20 p.m. on Dec. 25 and involved a pickup truck and an electric dirt bike. DPS reported that no other injuries occurred.

Investigators said a 2012 Toyota Tundra pickup was traveling south on SH 6 when a 2025 Yozma IN-10 electric dirt bike entered the roadway. The dirt bike had been traveling south in a narrow ditch along the west side of the highway before the rider attempted to cross both lanes to enter a residence driveway.

The vehicles collided as the dirt bike crossed into the path of the pickup, DPS said.

The rider of the dirt bike, a 13-year-old boy from Cisco, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Eastland County Justice of the Peace Jon Glen. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of the pickup, an Abilene man, was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

DPS reported that weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the crash. The posted speed limit in the area is 70 mph.
