Dangerous Suspect Charged with Murder After Fatally Shooting a Woman in a Bedroom

ODESSA, TX –– An Odessa man is facing murder charges after he was arrested in connection to a fatal shooting.

According to the Ector County Sheriff's Office, on Saturday, January 8th, officers were dispatched to a disturbance at the 11000 block of West Layla Lane.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Samuel Adrian Chavira in the front yard. After searching the home deputies found the body of the victim –– Arely Sotelo Navarrette.

Navarrette was found in the master bedroom with a gunshot wound.

During the subsequent investigation, deputies learned Chavira and the victim got into an argument that turned violent. Chavira admitted to investigators he shot the victim.

Chaviria was booked into the Ector County Jail and charged with murder. He was released after posting his bond.
