A tornado swept through several colonias in Ciudad Acuña at 6:40 a.m. this morning. According to the Associated Press, "Rosario Cano, spokeswoman for the interior department of the northern state of Coahuila said 10 people had been confirmed killed."
Acuna is a city of approximately 100,000 people located on the southern bank of the Rio Grande River across from Del Rio, Texas.
Reporting under the psuedonymn of “Omega” on the Del Rio Soapbox, an eyewitness said the colonias named Sta Rosa, Sta Teresa and Las Aves were affected. Omega posted these pictures on the Del Rio Soapbox online forum.
