MASON, TX — Mason ISD named Wade Griffin as its new head football coach and athletic director Monday.
Griffin has served in the same roles the last three years at Weimar, where he led the Wildcats to a record of 21-14.
Weimar was 7-5 last year and reached the second round of the playoffs, where the Wildcats lost 56-28 to Mason.
Griffin replaces Michael McLeod, who was 58-16 with the Punchers. McLeod recently accepted a position as the defensive coordinator at Llano.
Griffin was previously the head coach at Giddings and Elgin, and he served as a defensive coordinator at Georgetown and Westwood.
