SAN ANTONIO, TX — A trip to Panda Express ended in two arrests after two customers turned violent after they waited too long for food.
According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, the suspects, 23-year-old Ray Vasquez and 50-year-old Christina Fuentes went thru the restaurant's drive-thru and paid for their food. They were then asked to wait in the front of the building until their order was brought by an employee.
According to court documents, the manager of the Panda Express carried out several orders but not the couple's order. The longer the couple waited, the angrier they became.
Vasquez allegedly then came up to the manager and demanded his food. The manager explained he was “dealing with other customers” and would have Vasquez’s order out soon.
Vasquez then became enraged and began yelling for his gun. He then walked to the vehicle where Fuentes was waiting and grabbed the gun.
According to court documents, “[The manager] said he did not want to die for food."
As the manager entered the restaurant Vasquez followed him inside. The restaurant dining room had been closed to patrons for COVID-19 precautions.
Vasquez then grabbed all the food on the counter and when employees let him know he was taking orders made for other customers he said: “not to mess with me.”
A witness to the incident wrote down the license plate of the suspect's car and they were later arrested.
Vasquez and Fuentes were charged with aggravated robbery.
