WATCH: Mayor Gunter Goes Door To Door

SAN ANGELO, TX – Since the winter storm intensified with the record-setting snowfall on Sunday it's left many San Angelo citizens without water and power.

After taking calls and messages from a number of citizens located in the neighborhood of Metcalf Street and Dellwood Drive, San Angelo Mayor Brenda Gunter and City Manager Daniel Valenzuela assembled a team to initiate door-to-door welfare checks on Thursday afternoon.

In doing so Gunter along with a team of volunteers were able to assist AEP to get the power back on for citizens on Dellwood Drive who have been without power since early Sunday morning.

Watch as Mayor Gunter goes door-to-door to listen to citizens who have been left in the cold due to the massive statewide power outage and how one couple Jack and Karen Smith expressed their frustration with the outage while showing gratitude for those who have come to their aid during their time of need.
