Illegal Immigrant Rescued from the Desert Dies in Hospital

LAREDO –  Personnel at the U.S. Border Patrol Laredo South Station were notified by Laredo Sector Communications of a 911 call placed by an illegal alien at about 1:00 p.m. on September 20, 2021. The immigrant, a citizen of Mexico, indicated he was lost and in medical distress.

During a subsequent call from the man, Border Patrol Agents were able to obtain coordinates that placed him in a remote area, approximately 10 miles southwest of Aguilares, Texas.  Border Patrol Agents responded to the area and began to search for the man.

Personnel at the Laredo South Station received another 911 distress call from a group of four lost undocumented migrants who had encountered the man in distress at approximately 2:05 p.m.  At approximately 3:10 p.m., a Border Patrol Agent located all five migrants and requested Emergency Medical Services and a Border Patrol Emergency Medical Technician respond to the intersection of State Highway 359 and Aguilares to assist the man.  The Border Patrol Agent transported the group approximately 14 miles in a Border Patrol vehicle to the intersection and awaited EMS.

Upon arriving at the intersection, the man began to fall in and out of consciousness. A Border Patrol Emergency Medical Technician arrived and began to provide medical assistance to the man at approximately 3:50 p.m. EMS arrived at approximately 3:55 p.m. and began to provide medical assistance to the man and transported him to Laredo Medical Center.

The man was admitted into the hospital where he remained under watch by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The man succumbed to his ailments and was declared deceased by Laredo Medical Center staff at approximately 4:24 p.m. on September 21, 2021.

This incident is being investigated by the Webb County Medical Examiner’s Office and is being reviewed by the CBP Office of Professional Responsibility.  The Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General was also notified.

Should have never rescued him and just left him in the desert... Now there's an outstanding hospital bill that I'm going to have to pay for out of my taxes.........

There's nothing like rescuing a life, spending all kinds of republican (and democrats too) taxpayer dollars trying to keep that life, then being labeled as "bad" by someone who wants to turn this country into a "designated iv drug use" zone after it dies. Absolutely priceless, you sir ^^^ are the perfect living definition of an oxymoron.  Apparently very heavy on the last word
