Diocese of San Angelo to Hold Mass After Death of Pope Francis

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Diocese of San Angelo announced it will hold a mass for Pope Francis, who died Monday at 88.

The mass will be held at the Cathedral Church of the Sacred Heart, 20 E. Beauregard Ave., at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2025.

Michael Sis, bishop of the Diocese of San Angelo, issued a statement asking for prayers “for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis.”

“O God, who in your wondrous providence chose your servant Pope Francis to preside over your Church, grant, we pray, that, having served as the Vicar of your Son on earth, he may be welcomed by him into eternal glory,” Sis said. “May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.”

I am Protestant (Southern Baptist), and I strongly suspect Francis, who was the champion of the have-nots, will forever stand much closer to God than you ever will.

There's no point bringing up things like the history of Catholic torture, violence and cruelty during the indigenous holocaust of the "New" World. That same barbaric violence that reforged Europe, after the collapse of the Classical world, is too easily overlooked elsewhere by the descendants of its first victims.

Eyes closed, and driven by blind faith, Catholics are deaf to the kinds of pleas of those that decry "Mother" Teresa for putting on a face of "charity"; who essentially just made sure that the dying would have Catholic last rites so they could "go to heaven." Free healthcare? More of an afterthought.

We cannot yet undo their oppression and enslavement of the human spirit. However, we can all agree that there is a homosexuality epidemic within the Catholic church. Perhaps the next Papa will finally let the priests get married—possibly to women, but if he's progressive enough, maybe to each other...

Fun fact did you know that the catholic religion is the only religious organization to change the ten commandments to fit their belief system?? Also it's theorized that the antichrist will be a pope. Just sayin bud they aren't good people and the pope is their daddy. gotta kiss hiss(head of the snake) hand and pray to him and mary(not God or Jesus) for forgiveness... bad news bears

Guys, writing as a non-Christian outsider, I can't see how this argument does anything but detract from the necessary efforts of resisting the Zionist subversion of your faith throughout the West...

Just my 2 cents...
