New San Angelo MMA Gym Offering Children's Anti-Bullying Program

SAN ANGELO, TX – The building where women used to go shop for dresses is now a spot for hand to hand combat.

MMA Fighter, Angel Delgado, and his wife Veronica have opened up a MMA Fitness Center in the shop formally known as the Frizzled Feathers Boutique.

No Xcuses MMA Fitness, located at 2006 W. Beauregard, offers a number of programs including a Combat Team, a MMA Fitness class, and a Kids Anti-Bully Program.

In the MMA Fitness class, athletes will do a mixed martial arts based workout. In the workout fighters will train by performing basic exercises and techniques used in MMA. For $60 a month anyone can get back into shape.

"I started in 2018," said partial owner of the gym, Veronica Delgado. "I never worked out before but I love it and do it for the workout. We have people who are looking for all different types of workouts because everything is self paced."

For the youth, No Xcuses offers a Kids Anti-Bully Program. This program will teach children basic attack and defense techniques while at the same time learning how to react to real life situations.

The two decided to run the anti-bullying program after they were bullied when they were children.

"We were both bullied," said Delgado. "We have a lot of kids in San Angelo who are being bullied and we are helping them. Here in San Angelo there is not a lot for kids."

For the kids program No Xcuses askes for $40 a month but will work with families in need of help.

Workouts are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5-6 a.m., 4-5 p.m., and 5-6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday workouts are held 5-6 a.m. only.

The building No Xcuses moved into what was formally the Frizzled Feather boutique. That business was open for 8 years.

No Xcuses has moved locations three times but are happy to be where they are now.
