This morning, the Department of Public Safety (DPS) released the details of the crash at the intersection of FM 2288 and Concho Dr.

At about 9:45 p.m., 19-year old Christian Vargas, of San Angelo, was traveling northbound on FM 2288 in a 2003 Chevrolet 3500. At the same time, 45-year-old Scott Lynn Cornstubble, also of San Angelo, was traveling southbound on FM 2288 on a 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. While attempting to turn left onto Concho Road, Vargas failed to do so safely and struck Cornstubble's motorcycle.

Vargas, and the two passengers in his vehicle, were not injured, but Vargas was issued a citation for making an unsafe turn.

"Texas Department of Public Safety would like to reminder drivers [to] always look twice for motorcycle riders, especially when at intersections," said DPS.

At the time of the crash, Vargas wore his seat belt, and Cornstubble did have a helmet on. The weather conditions were dry and clear, and the posted speed limit in the area is 45 mph.
