Bass Boat Stranded on Highway Following T-Bone Crash on US 87

SAN ANGELO, TX — Highway 87 south outside of San Angelo was shut down on Monday around noon after a Tahoe hauling a bass boat crashed.

According to our reporters on the scene, on September 11, 2023, at around 12 p.m., Texas DPS troopers were dispatched to the intersection of US 87 S and Brodnax Lane after a report of a major crash.

Once on the scene, troopers discovered a truck that crashed into a Chevrolet SUV hauling a Bass Boat. It appears the crash was a T-bone, resulting in the SUV being hit on its side.

There was an ambulance on the scene. It is unknown if anyone was taken in that ambulance. Our reporters did confirm that the ambulance left with the lights on.

The highway is shut down as crews are attempting to get the boat off the road.

Please avoid the area.
