FORT STOCKTON, TX — A senior student at Fort Stockton High School has died following a car crash, Fort Stockton ISD announced Monday.
The district said it is mourning the loss and is calling on the Panther community to keep the student’s family and friends in their thoughts and prayers.
In response to the tragedy, FSISD will have a Crisis Response Team of counselors available on campus Tuesday, May 13, to support students and staff. The district is also bringing in an Animal Therapy Team with five to six support animals starting at 10 a.m. Representatives from the Ministerial Alliance will be present for those seeking spiritual support.
“We encourage anyone who needs comfort or support to take advantage of these resources,” the district said in a statement.
ESC-18 and neighboring school districts are also assisting with support efforts.
FSISD asked the community to keep the family and those affected in their prayers.
