WASHINGTON — U.S. Customs and Border Protection released finalized operational statistics for June 2025, reflecting historic performance across the agency’s core missions.
“From shutting down illegal crossings to seizing fentanyl and enforcing billions in tariffs, CBP is delivering results on every front," CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott said. "Under this administration, we are protecting this country with relentless focus, and the numbers prove it.”

Border Enforcement at Historic Levels
Illegal crossings in June dropped to the lowest level ever recorded – just a fraction of what they were under the previous administration.
- 25,228 total encounters nationwide — lowest monthly total in CBP history
- 8,024 U.S. Border Patrol apprehensions nationwide — new historic low
- 6,072 southwest border apprehensions — 15% lower than the previous March record
- 136 apprehensions on June 28 — lowest single-day total in agency history
- Zero parole releases — compared to 27,766 released in June 2024

Drug Interdictions That Save Lives
In June, CBP seized 742 pounds of fentanyl, a 3% increase from May. Overall, seizures of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, and marijuana rose 13% nationwide compared to the previous month—reflecting continued pressure on cartel-driven smuggling routes.
Breakdown by substance (compared to May):
- Methamphetamine seizures surged 102%
- Heroin seizures rose 19%
- Cocaine seizures increased 9%

Tariff Enforcement & Economic Security
CBP plays a central role in enforcing U.S. trade law at the border, including the implementation of 24 presidential tariff actions directed by the Trump administration. In June 2025 alone, CBP:
- Processed $265 billion in imports
- Identified $26.5 billion in duties owed
From January 20 through June 30, CBP has collected:
- $108.9 billion from all tariffs, taxes, and fees
"Through audits, targeting, and frontline import reviews, CBP is enforcing trade law and safeguarding America’s economic sovereignty," information stated.
