UPDATE: DPS Details Clyde Train Crash That Killed Siblings; GoFundMe Started

CLYDE, TX — The Texas Department of Public Safety has released new details in the fatal train-truck collision that killed a Clyde High School student and his sister on Sunday.

The DPS report identified the passenger as Brileigh Janae Dailey, 19, of Baird, and confirmed the vehicle became engulfed in flames after the impact.

The driver, a 16-year-old male juvenile from Baird, was also killed in the crash, which occurred around 2:45 p.m. on Feb. 1, 2026.

According to the preliminary DPS report, the siblings were in a 1994 Ford F-150 pickup truck exiting a private driveway at 8996 FM 18.

The driveway crosses the railroad tracks immediately before reaching the north side of FM 18 at County Road 243.

The teenage driver failed to yield to an approaching train, which struck the truck, pushed it westward off the tracks, and caused it to burst into flames.

Both occupants were pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Paige Savell. Seatbelt use was listed as unknown for both; road conditions were dry, weather was clear, and the train crew was uninjured.

A GoFundMe identifies the driver as Kyler Dailey, 16. According to the GoFundMe, Brileigh was a 2025 graduate of Clyde High School, and Kyler was a Junior.

At the time of this reporting, the GoFundMe established has raised $24,000.

"Brileigh and Kyler were vibrant young lives with bright futures ahead of them," the GoFundMe stated. "They were both involved in Clyde athletics, Kyler playing football and running track while Brileigh was known for her many years of softball and cheer. Both brother and sister were a part of Beltway Park Church in Abilene & very involved with their youth groups. They were deeply loved and will always be remembered for the joy, kindness, and light they brought to those around them. Their loss has created a pain that words cannot fully express."

The funds raised will help cover funeral and memorial expenses and provide support to the family as they navigate this devastating time—"allowing them space to grieve without the added burden of financial stress."

"Any donation, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated," information from the GoFundMe stated. "If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this page and keeping the family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for your kindness, love, and support during this incredibly difficult time."
