DPS Offers a $5,000 Reward for Most Wanted Sex Offender from Chambers County

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is offering a cash reward up to $5,000 for information leading to the capture of Mark Anthony Breaux, 49, who has been added to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list.

Breaux is wanted for failure to register as a sex offender, evading arrest/detention and probation violation. He has ties to Chambers County, including the city of Winnie and Jefferson County. Breaux’s criminal history includes sexual assault, burglary and escape. He was also convicted of aggravated assault of a child after an incident in Jefferson County involving a 9-year-old girl. For more information or updates in the event of his arrest, see his wanted bulletin by clicking here.

DPS described Breaux as 5 feet 5 inches tall and he weighs approximately 155 pounds. He has tattoos on both arms, his right hand and chest; he also has scars on his arms and left knee. The wanted man has a prior work history as a repairman and laborer, and people know him as “Tony” or “Speedy.”

Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division, offers cash rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives or sex offenders.

To be eligible for the cash rewards, there are five different ways to provide anonymous tips:

  • Text the letters DPS, followed by the tip, to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.

DPS investigators work with local law enforcement agencies to select fugitives for the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive and Sex Offender lists. You can find the current lists – with photos – on the DPS website at http://www.dps.texas.gov/texas10mostwanted/.

DPS requests for people not to attempt to apprehend these fugitives because they are considered armed and dangerous.
