Habitual San Angelo Criminal Indicted for Several New Crimes

SAN ANGELO, TX — A Grape Creek man with an extensive criminal record has been indicted on several charges including burglary, theft, and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Dallion Holt, 21, has been indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for evading arrest, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, burglary of a habitation, and several charges related to burglary of a vehicle.

According to court documents, on March 2, 2023, San Angelo police officers responded to the 2600 block of Hemlock Drive in San Angelo regarding a burglary. Investigators learned from responding officers that the victim's house had been broken into, with a shattered window in the kitchen area. Various valuable items, including jewelry and a Mazda 3 vehicle, were stolen from the residence.

Several latent fingerprint cards found at the victim's residence were submitted as evidence for analysis. A person from the Crime Scene Investigation unit used a computer program to compare the prints to known individuals in the system. Based on approximately 50 points, the fingerprints were a match for Dallion Holt.

The investigator contacted the victim, who confirmed not knowing Holt and never granting him permission to enter the house or yard. The victim also verified Holt's identity through a photograph, stating that they had never met before.

A warrant was subsequently issued for Holt's arrest as a result of this investigation.

On March 6, 2023, San Angelo police officers were called to Cielo Vista Plaza regarding a stolen vehicle. The victim reported that her white 2018 Ford Fusion, parked at her residence, had been taken without her consent between 7:00 p.m. on March 5, 2023, and 7:00 a.m. on March 6, 2023, by an unknown person.

Less than a month later, on March 23, 2023, investigators were working on a separate stolen vehicle case at Fiddlestrings Bar and Patio, located at 3301 Arden Road in San Angelo. During the review of security footage from the establishment, it was observed that on March 22, 2023, around 11:00 p.m., an unknown individual exited a newer model white Ford Fusion and proceeded to take a Chevy Silverado from the parking lot without the owner's consent.

The footage showed the suspect exiting the Ford Fusion, entering the Chevy Silverado through the front passenger side door, then leaving the parking lot in the Ford Fusion. Approximately 13 minutes later, the same vehicle returned to the parking lot near the pickup truck. The suspect once again exited the Ford Fusion, entered the Chevy Silverado, and drove out of the Fiddlestrings parking lot, with the Ford Fusion following behind.

Comparisons were made between the white Ford Fusion involved in both cases, confirming it was the same vehicle.

On March 23, 2023, around 3:00 p.m., a San Angelo police officer attempted to stop a white Ford Fusion at the intersection of South Johnson Street and West Beauregard, suspecting it to be the stolen Ford Fusion. However, the suspect evaded the officer's attempt to stop the vehicle.

At 1852 Sherwood Way, the neighborhood Walmart, two female passengers exited the suspect vehicle. Investigators met with the passengers at that location and learned that the driver of the stolen Ford Fusion was Holt. Both passengers allegedly pleaded with Holt to stop while being pursued by the police.

Later that same day, around 6:30 p.m., Holt was apprehended near Paint Rock Road and Bell Street, where he was arrested on an unrelated county warrant. Following an interview with investigators, Holt allegedly confessed to being aware that the white Ford Fusion was stolen and admitted to evading the police earlier in the day.

The victim's Ford Fusion was found abandoned in an alleyway on the north side of San Angelo and subsequently returned to the owner.

Holt was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility on March 23, 2023, on charges of burglary of a habitation, evading arrest with a vehicle, and two counts of unauthorized use of a vehicle.

In addition, Holt was indicted on several other charges. On March 21, 2023, he allegedly burglarized a vehicle and was found in possession of several credit/debit/bank cards that did not belong to him. Furthermore, on March 23, 2023, Holt allegedly broke into another vehicle and stole a firearm from the same victim.

Holt has also been indicted for a series of five vehicle burglaries that occurred between March 5, 2023, and March 23, 2023.

Currently, Holt remains incarcerated at the Tom Green County Detention Facility, with a bond set at $615,000.

Oh I agree, I was being sarcastic. When it is apparent that someone can't live in a society without preying on others then they should go to prison for long periods. When someone won't refrain from committing crimes out of decency then they should refrain out of fear of what will happen if they're caught. Since decency doesn't seem to enter the equation very often then the second option needs to be implemented. Sadly that doesn't happen often enough either.
