San Angelo Man Bonded Out After Lewd Abuse of Child

 

SAN ANGELO, TX— A San Angelo man has been arrested for sexually abusing a child.

Jimmy Etherton, 20, of San Angelo, was arrested on June 16, 2025, and charged with sexual assault of a child.

According to court documents, on Nov. 11, 2024, the child victim reported that they were pregnant when under the age of 18. The victim said that Jimmy Etherton was the father of the unborn child and that he was 19 when he assaulted her.

In a supplement report completed by a San Angelo Police Department detective, the investigator learned that Etherton had assaulted the victim on Oct. 23, 2024, in his vehicle.

A video interview was conducted with Etherton where he said he believed the victim was 18 at the time of the assault but then acknowledged that the victim was a minor at the time.

The child victim also had a video interview where the victim said the assault occurred and believed it to result in a pregnancy.

Etherton was arrested on June 16, 2025, and booked into the Tom Green County Jail. He was released on June 18, 2025, on $25,000 bond.
