SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo woman has been arrested for aiding a Harris County murder suspect.
Marilyn Mork, 39, has been arrested for hindering the apprehension or prosecution of a known felon.
According to court documents, on June 21, 2025, the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office received a tip informing them that Jeremy Fancher, 38, was currently at a residence on Fulton Street in San Angelo. Fancher was later arrested on a warrant out of Harris County for murder.
Prior to the investigator’s arrival to the residence, he observed a red Ram 1500 pickup leaving the house and being operated by Marilyn Mork. The passenger seat was laid back, and the investigator could not see a passenger.
The investigator turned around to initiate contact with Mork, who made a rapid turn onto Paint Rock Road before the investigator was in position.
The truck was located at the Stripes convenience store at 1542 South Bell Street and was unoccupied. Mork was observed inside the store. After exiting, she was asked about Fancher and stated she had not seen him. Mork reportedly became angry as the investigator attempted to speak further with her. She told the investigator to follow her to her residence.
Mork went to leave the store and made a wide right turn, which gave the investigator cause to stop her. During this stop, another individual with law enforcement made contact with the homeowner on Fulton Street who said Fulton was inside the Ram 1500 with Mork.
The investigator stated this information to Mork, who said it was not true and began to fabricate a story stating she had not heard from or seen Fancher since the previous night.
Multiple law enforcement agencies began searching the area for Fancher as a perimeter was being established.
Mork was informed that if she was aiding Fancher in avoiding arrest that she would be arrested. She continued to provide false information to the investigator. Mork was then informed that Stripes was providing video of her arrival to the store.
Mork exhaled deeply and stated that Fancher was with her, and he ran northbound on foot behind the Stripes.
The fabricated and false information Mork gave to law enforcement led to them being unable to arrest Fancher at the time.
Fancher was arrested a short time after.
Mork was booked into the Tom Green County Jail on June 21, 2025, and was released the next day.
