Teen Injured, Abilene Man Arrested in Family Violence Case

ABILENE, TX — A 15-year-old was injured in a family violence incident that led to the arrest of a 38-year-old Abilene man Tuesday, according to police.

Phillip Johnson was taken into custody on a charge of third-degree felony Assault Family Violence following two police responses to a disturbance at an apartment complex in the 2900 block of Old Anson Road.

Police were first called to the scene on August 5, where a man at the apartment claimed there was no disturbance. Officers returned later after a second caller provided video evidence of the incident.

Detectives with the Special Victims Unit investigated and arrested Johnson. He was transported to the Taylor County Jail.

Because the victim is a juvenile, no further details were released. The investigation is ongoing.
