San Angelo Police Warn of Rising Scam Activity

SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo Police Department is warning residents about an increase in scams targeting the community, urging people to verify businesses before making payments.

Police said scammers often appear convincing, but taking a few moments to confirm a company’s legitimacy can help prevent the loss of money, time and peace of mind. Officials recommend using the Better Business Bureau’s search tool to check a business’s credentials and contacting the BBB directly with any questions before committing to a purchase or service.

Residents are advised to trust their instincts and double-check before paying if something feels suspicious.

The department encouraged the public to help keep San Angelo safe by staying alert and reporting suspicious activity.
