Man Arrested After Losing Temper and Firing Gun in Air

SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo man was arrested after allegedly firing a handgun in the air following an argument.

James Bradley, 29, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to court documents, a Tom Green County Sheriff's Office investigator was on patrol around 8 p.m. on June 10, 2026, when he was dispatched to the 8200 block of Sunflower Avenue in Grape Creek in response to a report of shots fired. Dispatch advised that a man, later identified as Bradley, had allegedly fired a handgun into the air after an argument.

The caller, who was also identified as the victim, told authorities that Bradley left the scene and subsequently crashed his vehicle nearby. Upon arrival, the investigator found a white Dodge Charger that had crashed in front of a building in the 8100 block of North U.S. Highway 87. A witness reported seeing Bradley flee the crash scene on foot and run northbound.

After a brief search, deputies located Bradley and took him into custody near the original location of the call.

The victim told investigators that Bradley became upset while attempting to back up his vehicle as the victim was driving past. According to the report, Bradley then retrieved a black handgun from inside his vehicle, pointed it at the victim while yelling, and fired a single round into the air. The victim said he was unable to understand what Bradley was saying.

Bradley was booked into the Tom Green County Jail, and his bond was set at $75,000.
