Abilene Man Charged With Murder in Fentanyl Overdose Death

 

ABILENE, TX — A 19-year-old Abilene man is being charged with murder in the fentanyl-related overdose death of a 33-year-old Abilene woman.

Aaron Cordell McVea is being charged with first-degree felony murder for his alleged role in the woman’s death.

Megan Jiminez was found dead by family members at an Abilene home in May 2025. The death appeared to be the result of a drug overdose, according to police.

McVea was booked in the Taylor County Jail, where he is being held on a $1 million bond.

McVea is the second person charged with murder in Jiminez’s death, along with her boyfriend, Tovein Peterson.
