Winter Delay Start Times for Concho Valley School Districts

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Freezing temperatures and winter weather will extend into Tuesday morning, and some schools in the Concho Valley are already delaying the start of classes.

As reported this morning, a wintery mix of snow and freezing rain has made roadways slick, especially bridges and overpasses.  More is expected to fall, and those roadways will remain hazardous until they thaw Wednesday. There is a Winter Weather Advisory and a Wind Chill Advisory in effect for the Concho Valley.

School Districts with confirmed delayed starts:

  • Ambleside Concho Valley - will be closed on Tuesday, January 16, due to inclement weather.
  • Brady ISD - Due to inclement weather, Brady ISD will be on a 2-hour delay. Buses will run 2 hours late. Remember, due to the late start, breakfast will not be served. No morning, ACE program.
  • Eden ISD - Delayed start at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Buses will run two hours late. No breakfast will be served.
  • Junction ISD - delayed start at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Buses will run two hours late.
  • Mason ISD - Mason ISD will delay the start of school two hours on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Buses will run two hours late. Further information related to the school schedule will be communicated if necessary.
  • Paint Rock ISD -  Due to weather conditions, we have canceled school for tomorrow (Tuesday).
  • Veribest ISD - delayed start at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
  • Rochelle ISD - will have a late start on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m. All Students need to report to their first-period class. Buses will run two hours late.
