Damaging Winds Early Monday Morning Ushered in Rain Across the Concho Valley

SAN ANGELO – A strong cold front blew through the San Angelo area early morning bringing some showers and thunderstorms causing some minor damage in the area.

There are reports of small tree limbs down across the area and some minor street flooding and the National Weather Service office in San Angelo is expecting to issue a Wind Advisory for Monday afternoon as a dry line associated with a pacific cold front makes its way through the area.

Winds from the west to northwest will reach sustained speeds of 20 to 30 mph Monday afternoon with gusts up to 40 mph.

There was a line of showers and thunderstorms which crossed the area before sunrise but most of the rain was light to moderate except where the thunderstorms were strongest.

Expect the rain to end by nightfall Monday with the winds dying down by the early morning hours Tuesday.  Seasonal temperatures will return on Tuesday with highs in the mid 70s.

Throughout the week, look for seasonal conditions with afternoon highs in the 80s and overnight lows in the 50s.  There is another chance for rain in the Concho Valley by Friday.
