San Angelo 19th Street Sidewalk Project to Begin Next Week

Residents on the north side of San Angelo will notice construction beginning Monday, Sept. 14, on a sidewalk along 19^th Street, which will stretch from Lillie Street almost to North Bryant Boulevard, said Anthony Wilson, public information officer for the City.

Wilson said the right-hand lane of eastbound traffic will be blocked during construction of the sidewalk on the south side of 19^th Street. The Stripes Convenience Store at 1821 N. Bryant Blvd. will also be accessible from 19^th Street, and the sidewalk will end at the store’s parking lot.

Construction workers will be demolishing existing paths and building new curbs and sidewalks; construction is estimated to end Oct. 9, unless acceptable delays (such as bad weather) call for approved extensions from that deadline.

Wilson added that Entrenos Inc. is the contractor on the project, and the COSA’s Engineering Services Division will oversee the work. City dollars previously earmarked for the sidewalk will fund the project at $161,635.
