Fallen Officer's Remains Arrive in San Angelo

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- San Angelo citizens lined the streets to honor Sgt. Stephen Jones late Wednesday morning.

The remains of Sgt. Jones were transported from Lubbock where his autopsy was performed. Along the way, first responders lined the roadway to salute the fallen deputy as the procession passed their communities.

Sgt. Jones was taken to Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have not been announced at this time.

The remains of the other law enforcement officer gunned down in the same incident in Eden Monday night, Deputy Samuel Leonard, will be laid to rest on Monday, May 17 at the First Baptist Church in Lamesa.

Two bank accounts have been set up at the Eden State Bank for those wishing to donate to their families.
