WATCH: Fire Breaks Out on the Concho River

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A fire broke out just off the Concho River in south San Angelo on Wednesday night.

According to our reporters on the scene, on July 19, 2023, San Angelo firefighters were dispatched to the 2700 block of Country Club Rd. to respond to a report of a large grass fire.

The fire originated near a construction site off the Concho River. The photos below show the immense amounts of black smoke from the active fire.

For more than a week, San Angelo and Tom Green County have been under an excessive heat advisory. Additionally, Tom Green County is currently under a burn ban.

As of now, the cause of the fire has not been disclosed.
